Top Picks Tuesday!

They say that if you really like something you will tell 1 friend and if you really dislike something you will tell 10…or something like that. But, we live in the day and age of telling everyone everything. So, here ya go, my favorite pinned images/products for this week. Heck, I may even throw in some extra goodies ‘cuz I missed last week.

COLLABORATING WITH LIKE MINDED PEOPLE

Favorite part of my job? Working with people.  I LOVE people. (and yes, sometimes I don’t) Regardless, I had a fabulous opportunity to assist in these guys’ dream of opening up their own brewery in Alexandria. They had a vision,  an amazing idea, and fantastic building/handy skills, an immense passion for beer, people, this community and a great sense of humor and humility. This was a fun project! We are still conjuring up some design ideas, meanwhile, they are are killing it with their beer! Check them out!

SIMPLER TIMES

We went camping this last weekend with some dear friends and their children. I love watching all of the kids play with sidewalk chalk, ride their bikes around, go fishing and do things that require fresh air, minimal planning and an extra dose of laughter.

As I was kayaking on a solo adventure, I had a moment. I was reminded of how it was so nice to not be on my phone or computer. I giggled at the panoramic view of all of the campers on the shore that were escaping the busy, chaotic lives we live to settle into a more “simple” living for a weekend.

It was refreshing and allowed me to breathe deeper, release my to-do’s until my week prep on Sunday night and take notice of the now.

A long time ago, people lived in an uncomplicated world and I love paying homage to that with old pictures framed in a modern way. Let’s remind us daily of “the simple times.”

This pin reminded me of the kids playing hop scotch this weekend!

WALL COVERING JUST AIN’T LIKE IT USE TO BE

This pin almost makes me want to have another baby. How cute is this? Whimsical wall covering, minimal decor and soft textures. Recipe for perfection.

RUG FREAK

If there was one thing that I could change out seasonally, it would be rugs. I love them. Lately, I am obsessed with flat weave rugs. They have an honesty to them and their textures are to die for. There is something to be said about things that look and feel handmade.

WORDS OF WISDOM

If you follow me on Instagram, you will notice I use quotes a lot. I love short, concise sentences that convey a feeling,  trigger insight, define a moment or evoke passion. Sometimes, I make up my own and other times, I use some wise words from those that precede us.  A huge trend in design is to have our “art” showcase these. I really love the idea of using a page from an old book as a background.
